August 26, 2024Stories of the polarized state of our electorate dominate today's headlines. Do those headlines accurately reflect the state of political engagement in the United States? What are the implications of continued focus on the loudest, most partisan voices? Yanna Krupnikov, Professor of Communications and Media, is a scholar of political communication whose research investigates the complex relationship between the evolution of news media, the consumption of news, political expression, and perceptions of the political divide. She often shares her insights in the public sphere: Ezra Klein interviews Yanna Krupnikov (6/18/2024); Niskanen Center Science of Politics podcast U.S. Politics: The Hyper-Involved vs. The Disengaged (1/26/22); and “The Real Divide in America Is Between Political Junkies and Everyone Else,” New York Times Opinion, (10/20/2020).
